Memorial Day

Each year over Memorial Day weekend, people attack their yard work, head to the beach, host/attend parties, and generally have a pleasant time as they usher in the unofficial start of Summer. My suggestion to you as you enjoy this weekend is, grab your ruck and head out the door with your partner or team. If they can’t make it, consider bringing along a younger member of your family and talk to them about this holiday and what it’s all about. While many folks do remember to take time to reflect upon those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the country, we’ve all seen those who do it just to get it out of the way. Often, it’s because they haven’t been directly impacted by one of these losses, so they don’t get it. This is where a ruck and time spent talking about the holiday can make the difference.
